Auf die Frage hin, ob es irgendwann auch eine PlayStation 3-Version des Spiels geben wird, ließ man folgendes verlauten: “Splinter Cell Conviction bleibt weiterhin Microsoft-Exklusiv und es gibt keine Pläne das Spiel auch für andere Plattformen zu veröffentlichen. Es gibt unterschiedliche Gründe dafür: Zum einen ist Splinter Cell geschichtlich mit Microsoft verbunden. Der erste Teil der Serie erschien zunächst nur für die Xbox. Es war eines der ersten Spiele, das die technischen Möglichkeiten der Konsole voll ausschöpfte. Es gibt also eine Verbindung zwischen der Franchise und der Plattform. Der zweite Grund ist, dass wir das Spiel durch die Nutzung von nur einer Plattform immer weiter optimieren können, da wir nur die Hardware einer Konsole bedenken müssen.“

Somit bleibt Sony-Anhängern wohl nur der neidische Blick zur Konkurrenz.
